A meticulously arranged high-protein Belgian breakfast spread on a light oak table: a deep bowl of creamy oatmeal topped with sliced Belgian strawberries, toasted hazelnuts, and a measured scoop of whey powder, next to a small plate with a crisp wholegrain tartine spread with smooth speculoos protein spread. A digital kitchen scale and a stainless steel measuring spoon rest nearby, subtly emphasizing portion control. Soft morning daylight from a nearby window creates natural highlights on the fruit and gentle shadows under the dishes. Shot at a slightly elevated, three-quarter angle with shallow depth of field, the background fades into a blurred, modern kitchen. The photographic realism and clean composition convey a professional, evidence-based fitness nutrition mood, calm and focused.

How It All Started

I’m a nerd and I wanted to challenge myself and so I did! I went to the gym nearby and hoping for the best, I got a coach and foodcoach. For months I trained, followed their advise and saw very good results within a couple weeks. What I was eating how much protein, how many carbs, how much fat mattered just as much as any workout. That realization changed everything for me and I really dove into min-maxing my food intake, every carb mattered! 😉

So I did what all nerds do, I went down the rabbit hole of macros. Proteins, carbohydrates, fats I read everything I could find and asked a lot of questions to my coach. Honestly? The numbers were confusing at sometimes. But once it started to make sense, it was genuinely eye-opening. My coach once said you just eat rice but then I found out there is rice which is 77carbs/100g and rice at 30carbs/100g. Which made me dive really into the rabbit hole and so I started to make data tables of all the different types of products.

I spent a lot of time piecing all of that together on my own, and I didn’t want anyone else to have to do the same. So if you’re just starting out or are trying something new, this is for you. Fuel Forges exists to give you the clear, practical macro information I wish I’d had from day one – built around the real foods available here in Belgium.

A neat line of transparent, rectangular glass containers filled with different Belgian fitness food recipes aligned diagonally across a dark slate surface. One container holds a colorful quinoa salad with Belgian endive, cherry tomatoes, and chickpeas; another features grilled salmon with lemon slices and steamed asparagus; a third shows a hearty bulking-friendly pasta with lean minced beef and a tomato-vegetable sauce. Small piles of raw ingredients—oats, flax seeds, and wholegrain pasta—are arranged thoughtfully around the containers as visual macro cues. Cool, diffused overhead light emphasizes color contrast and texture while casting soft, controlled shadows. Captured from a slightly elevated angle with sharp focus and a clean, professional photographic style, the mood is organized, informative, and ideal for illustrating structured meal plans for cutting and bulking.

A close-up, photographic shot of a Belgian-style chicken and sweet potato meal prep tray, divided into precise macro-balanced portions. One compartment holds grilled chicken breast with visible sear marks, another contains roasted orange sweet potato cubes, and a third features bright green steamed haricots verts sprinkled with flax seeds. The black meal prep container rests on a clean, matte grey countertop with a small open notebook of hand-drawn macro tables beside it, pages slightly curled. Cool, diffused daylight from above and the side creates crisp, clinical clarity with gentle, defined shadows. Captured from an overhead, flat-lay perspective with sharp focus throughout, the image feels organized, professional, and practical, perfect for a cutting or bulking nutrition guide rooted in Belgian home cooking.
A beautifully plated high-protein, lower-carb version of Belgian stoofvlees on a matte white ceramic plate: tender beef pieces in a rich, glossy dark brown sauce, served alongside a modest portion of oven-baked potato wedges and a generous mound of steamed Brussels sprouts glistening with a light drizzle of oil. The plate sits on a dark wooden table with a subtle, rustic grain, flanked by a small bowl of fresh chopped parsley and a clear glass of sparkling water. Warm, directional evening light from the left casts gentle highlights on the sauce and soft shadows that add depth. Framed using the rule of thirds at an eye-level angle, the photographic realism and restrained, professional styling create an inviting yet disciplined fitness-food atmosphere.
An overhead, photographic view of a macro-friendly Belgian waffle reimagined for bulking: a single thick, golden-brown protein waffle with a crisp exterior and airy texture, topped with a measured spoonful of Greek yogurt, sliced banana, and a light drizzle of dark Belgian chocolate. Tiny chia seeds are sprinkled neatly over the toppings. The waffle sits on a simple stoneware plate on a clean white table, with a small bowl of whey powder and a stainless shaker bottle partially visible at the edge of the frame. Soft, bright natural daylight from a nearby window creates minimal shadows and a fresh, clinical clarity. The composition is centered but slightly offset for a modern, editorial feel, conveying a mood of precise indulgence within a structured fitness nutrition plan.
